Cabrini Basketball Loses One of Its All-Time Greats
On Saturday December 16, 2006, the Cabrini Basketball Alumni family lost one of its own, Marty Clancy. Marty came to Cabrini as part of Coach Dzik's original recruiting class in 1980. He was a 6'5" All-Delco center from Collingdale H.S. (now part of Academy Park), and played 3 years at Cabrini, scoring 908 points and gathering 613 rebounds during his career (both good for a spot in the program's top 15 all-time Scoring/Rebound lists). Not only was Marty a great basketball player, he was a great person, and a friend to many Cabrini Basketball Alumni. Marty will be remembered, and will be missed.

Former Cavalier Standout, Jeff Dailey Victim of Deadly Fire in East Stroudsburg

Former Cabrini College Basketball Player Jeff Dailey was tragically killed as a result of a fire in his off-campus duplex in East Stroudsburg, PA on November 8, 2007.  Dailey played at Cabrini for 2 years following his record-setting high school career at Notre Dame High School in Easton, PA. While at Notre Dame, Dailey set his school's all time scoring record with 1,742 points, and was the Colonial League MVP and a PIAA Class 2A all-State selection as a senior. As  result of his stellar high school career, Notre Dame retired his jersey (#20) in 2004.  During his Cabrini career, Dailey was named 2004-05 Pennsylvania Athletic Conference Rookie of the Year, and was named All-Conference Honorable Mention in 2005-06.  Following the 2005-06 season, Dailey left Cabrini, and ended up enrolling at East Stroudsburg University this fall, planning to resume his playing career in the near future. Jeff was a great basketball player, but more importantly a great teammate and friend to many members of the Cabrini Alumni Basketball family.  Jeff will always be a Cavalier, and both him and his family will remain in our thoughts and prayers.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Jeff's memory to Notre Dame High School; or to the charity of one's choice.
